An exhibition titled “The courage and heroism of fathers – an example for sons” has been opened at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The exhibition organizers-specialists from the history department-opened the exposition with the state symbols of Turkmenistan.

One of the first exhibits on the military theme is a carpet depicting Berdimuhamet Annaev, the great-grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan. On the book display case next to the first volume of the book “Hatyra” is a book about him with the epigraph: “Teacher, soldier, inspirer.”

The museum’s storerooms hold many valuable exhibits from the war period, and therefore exhibitions dedicated to Victory Day always attract great interest from visitors, especially young people. The display cases present unique items that today can only be seen in war films.

The most valuable information is preserved in the photo documents of front-line soldiers who heroically distinguished themselves in battles against the enemy and defended our native lands. Among such front-line soldiers is Hero of the Soviet Union Gurban Durdy. His military tunic, riddled with machine gun bullet holes, is exhibited alongside his military ID, Hero of the Soviet Union certificate, orders, and medals.

For the first time, the exhibition features information about Muhamet Shikhliyev, a recipient of the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class.

The feat of Turkmen women, who laid their family jewelry on the altar of victory, has entered the history of the war for centuries. On display, next to the massive silver jewelry, are items knitted by the caring hands of women for the soldiers.

Among the first visitors to the exhibition were guests such as Gurbandurdy Annadurdyev, Honorary Elders Erkin Kosaev and Orazguly Karataev, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan Charymyrat Yazmyradov, and students from the Border Institute of Turkmenistan.

The guests of the exhibition emphasized that the greatest value for humanity is peace on earth.
