On June 25, the Head of the Ministry met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkmenistan at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the field of education and science, which is of particular importance for the two friendly states. The Minister of Education noted that historically established good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan receive new content through implementation of joint educational initiatives.

The current visit of the delegation of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, who arrived for an internship in Tashkent, was noted as one of the striking examples of well-established cooperation.

Turkmenistan. Within 10 days, representatives of the Uzbek university will undergo practical training at the facilities of the agro-industrial complex of the country. And in July, the delegation of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov is scheduled to return to Uzbekistan for a similar internship. Similar mutual meetings they contribute to strengthening interuniversity ties and form a solid foundation for further partnership.

The Turkmen side presented information about the country's modern achievements in the field of education. The achievements in the field of digitalization, the introduction of artificial intelligence in education, as well as Turkmenistan's participation in international educational ratings were particularly noted.

Speaking about further steps of the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, the meeting participants noted the following key areas: expansion of the legal framework between the universities of the two countries, development of academic cooperation exchange of students and teachers, implementation of joint educational programs. Special attention was paid to the holding of rectors' forums, youth scientific conferences and hackathons with the participation of students and young professionals, the creation of startup incubators, as well as the organization of the exchange of access to digital educational platforms.

The importance of the participation of schoolchildren and students from the two countries in international Olympiads and competitions was emphasized. The Turkmen side noted with satisfaction that the Uzbek team had performed successfully and she won 17 medals of various denominations at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Ashgabat in April 2025.

In turn, the Uzbek side expressed interest in studying the Turkmen experience in the field of digital management and educational process management. It was proposed to intensify cooperation between public and private universities, as well as an initiative to organize a fair of Uzbek universities in Turkmenistan, which will help expand opportunities for applicants and develop academic ties.

At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side invited representatives of educational and scientific institutions of Uzbekistan to participate in the International Exhibition and scientific conference "Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state", which will be held in Ashgabat in October 2025.
