The Training Center under the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has been awarded the status of a Regional Training Center of the World Customs Organization (WCO). This decision was made at the annual conference of heads of customs administrations of the WCO member countries in the European region, which took place on April 29-30, 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.

The representative of the State Customs Service Kerim Akhmedov spoke about the potential of the training center, focusing on its compliance with international standards, the availability of modern infrastructure, as well as wide opportunities for organizing programs for the exchange of experience and advanced training of specialists.

The assignment of the status of the regional training center of WCO was the next confirmation of the international recognition of the successes achieved by Turkmenistan in the field of customs administration and training of specialists in this area.

The final stage of the implementation of this initiative will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the World Customs Organization and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, which is planned for June 2025 within the framework of the next session of the WCO Council.
